What's the hot setup for inverters?

Ive heard that Inverters was the way to go as far electric tool power supplys. Seems to me that 12 or 14 volt cordless tools would be the way to go? Any pros or cons? ???

You'd need a pretty good size inverter to run power tools, not that that's a bad thing. I run an inverter in my Jeep but I use it mainly for a computer/gps setup.

I like the cordless power tool although you have be absolutely certain that it's charged and use is limited by the battery of course

My solution was finding a 12v cordless drill at a thrift store, bought it for $2, trimmed the bottom where the battery went and hard-wired it to a long cord with clamps. So I can pull it out, clip it onto the engine battery and drill holes or whatever all day long.

I run a 750 watt inverter hard wired to battery for my 40' of rope light under my truck for night crawling, but it will also run a battery charger for cordless tools, a blender for drinks or a laptop, small tv ETC. ~rockon

JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING LIKE MY 2 HORSE 10 GALLON COMPRESSOR,POWER TOOLS,LIGHTS, HAMMER DRILL, ECT... BUT MAKE SURE YOU USE BIG CABLES DIRECT FROM THE BATTERY 0 GAGE..

I carry fully charged dewalt 18v impact and an extra battery. Plus hand tools if needed.
