Friday night I headed on out with my brother-in-law and a friend to camp and explore a bit of Superstition Mountain. I've only been there once before at night, so this was a real treat for me to explore a new area. The other guys brought out their dirt bikes to get crazy on some jumps, while I cruised the easy rolling sand dunes in my comfy Jeep. This area would make a good place for an event, with the large flat area suited to trailers, rv's, tents, etc. I just got a taste of the area, as I had to be back home saturday night. Stupid me forgot the camera on our big run on out to Sand Damn Canyon an surrounding areas. The wind picked up at times but was just fine when we were out on the trails. I really need to get the frame for my soft top. It was cold on the way home!

Relaxing by the campfire.  Camping

Ha, we were givin my buddy a hard time for those rims!

Rise and shine.

It was a cold night and the first one I've spent away from my wife since we've been married! But I had enough whiskey to help me through it. Drink

A somber reminder.

I watched my brother-in-law just eat it so many times!  LMAO

The real desert is not for the eyes of the superficial observer or the fearful soul of the cynic. It is a land which reveals its true character only to those who come with courage, tolerance, and understanding. For those, the desert holds rare gifts

Yeah, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. You got sand out there, compact dirt and everything in between. I was running my meats at 10 psi. Im sure that helped me make it up Sand Dam.

We've had rain....the Dam is usually way harder to get up. I drove right up it in the Dodge and usually have to work it pretty hard. All the Jeeps were running up it on the hard lines and usually with a stock engine you can only barely make the easy line.
