Spline count of course is an indicator of relative strength of an axle, the more splines the stronger the axle, at least in theory. The Rubi D44 tho is somewhat of an exception. While the inner section is sort of a D44 the outer shafts on the front axle are actually D30's and are subject to the same weaknesses of the stock D30, mainly smaller u-joints.
When counting splines it is best to start at a single point and then count each spline or ridge all the way around the axle. Too many margaritas and it is much more difficult.
So margaritas could be an important part of this topic, sorta
