Made a custom lock for my jeep, as well as my van.
Each vehicle is different so i just figure out the simplest, and smallest lock i can make to confuse the would be thief.
watched allot of shows and the biggest thing is just do something different. something all the rip-offs don't sit around and share how the remove all the common locks, they do have a trick for just about all of them. so just do something different and they will usually just go get another easier car..
.
On my Jeep, this one is a piece of Solid Stock Titanium 6-4, (perks from being a Aerospace worker) it would be easier for them to cut the lock' before they could saw through this, and bolt cutters wont touch it. but there is the lock' , but 3/8'' hardened shaft ,I think would take the 3 foot bolt cutters, and they usually only carry the 18'' under there jackets....
.
just run a J-hook type hook on one end and grab hold of anything under the dash' and a hole at the other end...once lock is on it cant go forward or backward, so no hard mounting is necessary... the Adell clamp just holds it in place while the lock is off.

On my Van, its a column shift so I had to go to the pedals...... its just 2 pieces of 3/16'' x 2'' angle iron. they would have to saw thru both pieces to get it off, and there usually pressed for time, so hoping that's good enough. and given the "just do something different thing" ..Drill a hole (lock shaft determines hole size) Thu your brake pedal at the top holes you put in the angle iron making sure the angle iron is tight up against the back off the foot pad, and make sure angle iron is down tight on the floor before Drilling thru the brake pedal, .. once installed you can not press on the brake pedal. or up, down,or sideways, .yes there's a couple of ways around that, but Thief's are typically pretty dumb ! or just ask my step dad because he went to move my Van one day while i wasn't home, and didn't notice the pedal lock, and took out his 8' x10' aluminum shed.. so that's when i decided to paint it white !!!
