I posted a picture of my big knarly beast on the introduction thread, but I figures I woud post it again. I love this thing, more power than it knows what to do with. Plans are as follows: suspention lift (6" spring lift from BJ's or SOA) 33" or 35" tires custom bumpers front and rear big wench some fender flares off road lights (lots of them) good bucket seats de-wood the outside matte black paint job All of course on a budget so who knows how long all of this will take. The fun will be doing the work and building her up. Hopefully my boys will take an interest in it as well. They both already think it is very cool and my older boy wants a Jeep when he is 16. I may have created a monster or two.

unfortunatly, the build thread will be a lot slower than I would like. I want to learn how to weld and possibly make my own bumpers. I like the BJ's cliffhanger series, but maybe I could build something similer to that. Hoopefully that would save a little money. The lift and wheel are the first priority. I think that would be a big step in the right direction for San Diego style off road. As far as the paint, I wanted that style for quite a while now. I was thinking matte black with a desert camo stripe where your orange is. I was also toying with a matte black bottom, a thin red stripe where your orange is and matte silver above like the A-Team van. I am still trying to figure it all out in my head. The bottom line is I want to do as much of the work myself as I can and learn to do the things I cannot do. And hopefully we can get some more Full Size love in here as well. I would love to see a big showing of Full Size jeeps.

Hey Chief, get some good side shots of it and post it up under Pete's Place. He will lift it, paint it, and anything else you might want. Check out some of the other stuff he has done here... Very talented guy! http://www.socalultimate4x4.com/index.php/board,50.0.html

oh, I was looking earlier, I will have to do that for sure. Then I could show the wife and hopefully convince her more, but so far she is pretty open to building the rig up as long as we can afford.

Trust me, when the time comes, there will be a lot of hollerin. Right now, I am trying to learn and fix the small things I can. With out have a garage, I am really limited to what I can do. You never realize how much you miss a garage until you don't have one. One of my goals with the beast is to do as much of the work as I can and do it right the first time. The problem is that I don't know how to weld and do some of the basic fab work, so I have to learn first. But for me, the best way to learn is to do. I can read so much till have have to put my hands on it and see, smell, and hear it to understand it. So it will be a slow process, but as long as I learn I am on the right track. I am envisioning quite a few bar-b-q's to get fellas to come over and help. But I appreceate all the help so far. Just reading a lot of these posts is helping quite a bit.

Wish I were closer. If you get motivated to drive it a ways when you need to do major stuff, let me know. I'm just over the hill in El Centro and run a machine and welding shop.

Driving is never the problem, it's always the gas that is. However, in the intrest of learning, I am sure I could make some trips out tat way to learn. I appreceate the offer and I will find a way to take you up on it.
