not much tech to post. bust heres my crawler set up

its the older non clocker version of the MC-09 apapter on ther rear and the 34-gt up front the reduction box is from a 79-95 toyota

2.28 to 1 reduction added to my stock 2.57 to 1 in my chain driven case. it goes slow enough... for now

here is the rear coupler the the stock t case mates up to

for a 4cyl tacoma you need the 26 spline. for the 6cyl you need 23 spline. the adapters are the same for both

the input(front) on these cases come in 21 and 23 spline only. 21 is most common but 23 spline came on the turbo trucks. marlin crawler makes theirs in 23.   it mates to the trans with a coupler so obviously for 23 spline it goes from 23-23. for the 4 cyl. trucks they make a 26x23 coupler

here it is installed

it pushes the stock case back 8- 3/8"

in turn the rear driveshaft needed to be shortened accordingly

and the front needed to be lengthend

the new shifter goes in the stock location and the stock shifter fits in the cup holder.
both needed to be dog legged.

i need to do some more work with the boot and get a matching grey one made.

this thing gives me alot better control in the rocks and it enables me to do some tough obsticals without beating the crap out of my clutch.

now all i need to do is get the gear oil smell out of the cab because for some reason oil pushes out the shifter at about 80>:(

Congrats on the first post! That makes for a sweet match up... Is the box a two speed with a neutral?

I have no idea how to get that lube smell out of the car? Maybe half a dozen christmas tree deodorizers? LOL

yeah i guess you could say two speed. its 1-1 high. and then the low range 2.28 to 1. and also nuetral. move both levers forward for 4.85 to 1.(stock case is 2.57:1) or move one forward for normal low.  mix that with the 5 different gears on the tranny and you have alot of different options. eventually i will put 4.7 gears in the crawler for even more options. but i have other things to worry about first.

i think i need to get some interior cleaner and scrub the carpet for a while to get the small out. i spilled about 2 teaspoons worth or mor on the carpet..... :'(
