Post Something, Anything'

« on: March 22, 2009, 10:04:59 AM »

First and foremost a special thanks to Steve  clap for leading us all on a scenic and all points of interest run !!!
105
.
We all finally met at the ranger station in Ocotillo wells, and headed out around the back side of blow sand mountain
006
.
First point of interest was a canyon that we were headed into for some Raiders of the lost Arc Adventures
008
.
So much for the Near Stock Run !!!  (remember' noting ever looks steep in pictures ! )
013
.
Here is where TagAlongGal learned the meaning of Articulate'
021
.
So with in the first 20 minutes of a Near Stock Run'  TagAlong's right front tire Snapped off,  as well as Jeffm's left front tire .
Well almost (jk) but but Tags did tell me later she now understands the term " Pucker Factor "
023
.
No Worries here Mr Ranger.......... We were  Exiting'
026
.
Into the Canyons we went
030
029
.
Until we couldn't go no More !
033
036
.
Time to Set Afoot' ....... This is the Raiders of the lost Arc' Part
038
040
042
043
045
.
No run is complete till somebody gets STUCK'......
MT's one to many burritos belly did the trick.....But lucky he brought his very own Winch-Dog to pull him out.
049
.
I myself had a real Crappy' time getting out of there , but I'm sure one of the others will be along to tell you more about This Pic'
058
.
Out of the canyon heading for our next Point of interest
057
063
.
The Pumpkin patch.......... Looked like rocks to me   eek
083
.
Then through the mud hills for some prefect near stock rig run type wheelin'
073
.
But of course the highlight of the day.....we all stop to watch Jeff n Steve in the hill climbing competition !!!
100
089
122
129
110
108
111
121
.
After a long day of wheelin Steve invited all back to his place right across from the ranger station,
For some cold beer, and anyone that need to take a Poop'...... (true story, true offer')
..........after checking with everyone , there all decided to keep there personal choices Private'
132
.
Last stop of the day was to stop by the other Scuff' posted Run in blair valley , for a quick hello..
135
.
.
But if theres Major Kuddo's to given out today for going through allot of sections that were far beyond "Near stock Run" conditions
.
                                               ...... Its to SCUFF's Newest Wheeler..................TagAlongGal'   punk

Sounds like an awesome run.  Looking at the pictures, I really wish I could have been there.  We will have to set another "near stock" run in a few months.  Glad everyone had fun and survived.

what a great day! I got to have my first trip out. It was awsome. The caves were amazing. I would have had a lot of problems if it wasn't for TagAlongDad. I got a thrill ride in Jeffm1964's jeep. The sun was out and everybody enjoyed the day! Metal Twister has some pic's I'm sure he will be posting up soon. Now I need to go wash my car and Armor all.... need I say more!

I hope everyone had a good of time as I did!   clap

You Virtual Wheelers missed out on a good one!

We ended up with everyone showing up that said they would plus a last minute add on, Roy and Wendy who haven?t been on the forum yet. ThumbUp As mentioned by Dennis, props to Steve (BrokenAgain) for the tour of his back yard. He has a place out there that he enjoys in his free time, One Lucky Cat!  punk Cheers

While Tags did do a great job her first time out.  I think herding that full sized Burb through the desert would have had to be a hand full? Hats off to Bill and B.J. for a job well done. I also wanted to give props to Jeff (jeffm1964) and Marry for being so patient with the rest of us with close to stock rigs. I realize it wasn?t as challenging as your used to and do appreciate you being out there with us!  Dirty Detour as always supplied the Comic Relief  dooh as well as a complete photo record of the run? Thanks Dennis for being here. BrandonTJ and Logan as always took the day in stride. I cant wait to get with Brandon and have him show me how the Ham radio thing works? just need an antenna, right? Unfortunately Chris (BajaChief) and Molly had to leave a bit early, but im sure we will be seeing a lot more of the Father daughter duo soon. Thanks for making it out everybody!
It was nice meeting, and wheeling with you all. clap

Dirty Detour has given a pretty complete run report with the Pics, so I will just add to it?

The pleasure was indeed mine. ThumbUp

Thanks everyone for coming out and spending the day. I had a blast and it was nice to put names to faces(not feces). And I did try to keep it near stock but not too boreing. Gald everyone had fun.

After you left I tried to get a nap before I headed out to find some friends..no luck there they found me...so off again. Ended up doing a night run and closing The Iron Door at 2am this morning. Cheers
Then up and out by 8am....but I did finally get that nap today.

Thanks again Broken Again for leading a nice run... Like you said not to boring and not to extreme. The canyon we walked through was so cool. What was the name of that? I agree that dirty detour should be the photographer. It was nice to see Roy and Wendy out there it looks like they will be attending more runs! Thanks Jeffm1964 and Broken again for everything throughout the day. Logan kept Lexis company along with roxy(molly's dog).
Overall, I had a wonderful day away from town and would do it all overagain in a heart beat.
