Well Scuff is up and running and doing ok, I think? Our first meet and greet is right around the corner, and things are looking up. I am really looking forward to meeting you all and putting a face with an avatar. Both B3 and myself have spent quite a bit of time setting up the format while working on getting topics, and conversation started. My goal is to become a member that just enjoys where this goes. Its time for me to back off with all the posts and just enjoy.
With all that said we are looking for suggestions on how to encourage lurkers to get involved? The more the better, so we need your ideas on how to get the word out. We also realize that we have been looking at the forum through our eyes only and need to know how it can be made better? It might be something small, or giant, but please let us know if you have any ideas or thoughts on what might make this the best forum we can have. We really mean it! To us Change is Opportunity... ;D

I think you guys are doin a great job!! This forum is still brand new and I think it's doin just fine the way it is. 51 members in less than a month can't be to bad. After more of us get to know each other and get out and do some runs or camp together we will have a lot more to post and a lot more to talk about so I'm pretty sure this site will get so big that you might be wishing that it was small again ;).
I found this web site through a link on another web site so advertising is definitely the key. Once you get the stickers done the word will get out even more. I'm always willing to help so if you need help with anything just let me know. later, John

I tried to sneak another more blatant heads up post on Pirate... Oh, such a nasty PM.LOL I didn't even know they had Mods over there. Well so much for Pimping SCUFF over there. LOL This Forum gig is turning out to be quite an education for me. ;D
We will have to figure out how to get the word out the right way? And thanks for the input.

The site is looking great and the lay out is good too. Only simple suggestion is maybe to add member of the week/month. A pic can be posted of their rig. I have seen them work on other forums. Just a thought. It may help motivate some lurkers also.

So exactly how is the member of the month chosen, and by who? I can already see that we have guys here with light years of experience, and others just getting there feet wet. Some love to post at any opportunity, others not so often... I think its a great idea, but I think each member of the month would have to be looked at in a unique, individual way in every case. Some might like to do runs and run reports, others might be into tech write ups. And so on... Make sense?

I totally agree. It would be decided by the moderator(s). It wouldn't necessarily need to be the member who knows the most, or who has the most tricked out ride. Any criteria could be used. One time its a run leader, next time a newbie innthe middle of mods....

After serious thought and intense meditation we are going to put this one up for a vote! all in favor of a monthly member of the month say I, all opposed say NO... The I's have it. It will be done!

A scuff calendar is a great idea... I think anyone should be able to add to it... not just the mods. As long as it is easy to read and updated once in a while I think its a good idea... Any special formats that you've seen that you like? Any special features or attributes that would make it more workable?

Boy I blew that one! I think that sounds like a giant project, and expense... Maybe down the road if we start a paid membership? It might be one of those things for a later date... unless you want to tackle it? ??? I think one on here would be helpful though.

Well I tied a rope around my waist and ventured into "Admin-land". While in there I did some poking around in the dark. I think I found the right buttons, and switches to get the calender up on the banner. Its linked to Informal Local Runs & Who's Going Whellin? If you got something going on, and want to make it public for everyone...with the exception of non members, Post it up on the calender. If the outside world wants to see what cool stuff we have going on in here, join up! ;D ;D

Also another cool thing would be to make something in our profile where we edit out picture and info and name/ E-mail etc... It would be cool if there was something in it where it said year, make, and model of what you drive. so we can see it under your name and pic when you post. I don't know if that made any sense...let me know. But I'm all for the member of the month thing too btw.

That would have to come from the Admin, of all Admins. He holds the magic language keys. He has a pretty full plate at the present time... we will check it out. BOb

Nice! Yea, I think it would be cool. you can see what everyone rides without memorizing it by the name and avatar.
