Before I get ahead of myself and start asking drivetrain questions, I need to focus on the engine.  The only place I'[ve found in town that sells 225 rebuild kits is the Carquest in Kearny Mesa, and they want $740 or more.  You chaps know where I could find something cheaper?  I don't want to cut costs, but 750 seems pretty steep for a rebuild kit.

Suggestions??

Think I would buy a running motor instead, something fuel injected. just my 2 cents.

What's on the other side? Maybe we should look first. (Na' it will give us something talk about later)

Find out what part # it is and I'm sure I can get you a better deal.  I work at Carquest but not Kearny Mesa and I can see what I can do.

I think what "walt" did is list out the parts I'd need, and give me a ballpark for the whole mess.  Little more expensive than buying a kit.  I think I found a place in Utah that'l sell them for 613+, and hardrock4x4 said they can get them, though i don't know costs.  worst case would be 800+ on ebay.   I'll get back to you with the numbers, any help would be rad.........

I'll look up in my Don Gross catalog at work tomorrow and see if I can find anything.  I'll look up rebuilt engine of just all the parts you'll need.

You want pistons and everything?

DC,

I just got the engine, and its been sitting a while, so it may be too jacked to redeem.  But if its good, yes, I'll need pistons and everything.
I'll pull it apart next weekend and see.

Until then, HAPPY EASTER!  Go celebrate life and redemption :)
