So I swapped out my front a few months back and never fixed the gears. I have the old axle still with gears inside and I wanna through them back in, but I've never done it before. I've been told it's a simple swap, but also that it's a pain in the  censored. Anyone have ideas or expertise?

Unless you know someone with the tools, and much more importantly the knowledge and experience, have it doen. If nothing else it gives you that cushion that if if something does go wrong you at least some warrantly to fall back on

What Steve said. I have never done gears and would love to learn but it does require special tools, knowledge and a *feel* to get it right. Plus, if done wrong the result is catastrophic failure.

I got prices between $300 - $500 depending on if I had the parts and the axle was in or out of the vehicle.

I called them up and they'll be close until monday. ORW offered to do it for a decent price too. I'm not sure if I wanna just throw the old gears into the newer D30 or get a D44 to be safe.
