I think the only thing wrong with your post jim is the word "SOON" LOL
I showed Tagalonggal the sweet rig today for the first time... She agrees that the paint is the last thing I have to think about. LOL

Ive had a few guys tell me that they make an adptor kit to that allows a SBC to bolt right in to the fj55 using the stock tranny... Has any one here had any experience with and adpator kit like that?

Im not sure I would want it? Im thinking about a wrecked Blazer or something that I could use the complete running gear and motor out of. Maybe an automatic?

I wonder how the wheelbase compares between the two?  Does that this have a frame or is it unibody? 

Old 4x Suburbans are cheap.  Shorten the frame and the drivetrain is pretty much done.

FYI

A guy on CK5/norcalbigdawgs did one with chevy drivetrain.

The guy I bought my Dodge from (DWitcher on Pirate) has/had a couple of them.
