so i rolled my 4runner last night, wymore is going to come out to yuma to give me a hand getting it back on its wheels tonight,im going to try and bang out the damages on the top of the roof. to maybe get it as straight as i can so i could put in a new windshield and be able to close the doors. my question is

does any body have any good skill with body damage and might be able to give me some pointers? or if i jack it up to bad trying to straightne it out, does any body know where i can get a new roof from? cause if its too bad im just going to cut it off and put a new one back on.

Post up some pics after you get it righted. We can do a better damage report at that time. The wrecking yards are full of them. Half price weekend im guessing $50.00 to $75.00 for a roof. It might be the easiest thing to do.

Is everyone OK physically? What did you do?

everyone is ok. the guy i was with got a little banged up cause he thought that all 120 punds of him was going to stop the truck from rolling, so he jumped on the rear passenger side and took a ride.

about 30 minutes after we rolled the search and rescue helocopter came flying by doing some training excersize. well they landed and picked us up and flew us to the hospital here in yuma. i tryed to get them to grab on to the yota and flip it back over with the copter, they werent going for it.

i've never been in a helocopter before last night. so that was cool.

I'm just thinking..... there have got to be better ways to get a ride in a helocopter. Sarcasm  Seriously, glad everyone was okay.

we got it all pulled out tonight. i get some pictures loaded up tomorow. most likely im going to be cutting the top off and buying a new one. other than that. the front drivers fender got all banged up and shoved into the engine bay. the rear drivers fender got dented in a little bit but not to bad. i think i might bang those out a little bit. but i think the battle damage looks cool.

clap clap :clap:thank you very much david, jim and cole for all your help clap clap clap

i really dont know what i would have done with out you guys out there mto help me get it home. i really appreciate everything.

i will be posting damage pictures tomorow.

i started on the repair prcess last night. got the plugs out. turned it over a few times and let all the oil get blown out. put the plugs back in and it started right up. let it run for about 15 minutes to check all the vitals and let the oil burn off. im going to start it up again today and do the same thing. i started to work onthe roof last night. the hardest part was getting the windshield out. the roof wasnt so bad. i just sat in the passenger seat and pushed up, really hard with my feet. and so far its coming out great.

BEFORE

AFTER

i've got a little bit of reshaping to do on the passenger side. but i think its turing out just fine. alls i have left to do is shape out the damage on the drivers side and change out all the fluids. it was up side down over night and did get rained on all day before we were able to go out there and get it.

well i got the roof straightened out, got the wind shield in, and painted all the bare metal. we dont have to worry about it to much out here, but when i move to san diego i dont need it rusting up.

all in all i think it came out pretty good.

i mean its not perfect but im no body expert. i can get the hood closed, and stay closed. i got a wind shield in. and i got the back straightened out so the fiberglass top will slide back on.

i would much rather have an exo cage. there alot easier to fab up and put in. i dont have to worry about going through anything. and i can make a cage that will go around the entire body alot easier than on the inside of it. yeah it may get hung up on some rocks. but thats better then my body getting a hole ripped in it.

eventually this truck is just gettin turned into a rock buggy.

its not all that straight. i just banged it out enough to fit in a wind shield, be able to close the hood and put the top back on. right now it still has to be my daily driver. i dont care what it looks like. i just need it to be street legal. so right now i plan on building it up to be a very capable off road daily driver. and later on down the line its just going to get turned into a trail rig.
