The wife and I are talking about buying a house in Temecula.  I was a wondering if there were any lessons learned, hint, or suggestions that could help us out as we start learning about this process.  As of right now, I have no idea how the process works, so anything would be good.  Thanks in advance.

Temecula? Where do you work? Don't get me wrong I liked Temecula, house prices and the newness of everything is great. The traffic was the worst.. and it's windy every evening.
Advice for buying a house... Have the seller pay all the closing cost, Hire your own home inspector that will tell you the things the seller doesn't want you to know (they might not know). Follow your gut..  Cheers

Check the forclouser lists here in S.D. County you might find something at a good price and not take a lot of repairs plus save yourself the commute time

i work down here at NAval Station San Diego.  We have been thinking about Temecula mainly because of the house we can get for the price.  I am not apposed to a house here in San Diego, but for the price, Temecula is hard to beat. Once I am back at sea, I wont be home a lot anyway, so having a nice house in a good community sounds nice.  We will probably use a VA loan and I think they use their home inspectors or whoever they contract out.  I also think the VA loan is no money down and no closing costs.  I am interested in the short sells and foreclosed houses.  Is there a web site that we can look for foreclosures?  Oh, one more selling point for Temecula is the fact that the Navy is paying 100% of the van pools, so I would have to seal with the commute, but not pay for the gas.  I couldn't imagine driving the jeep everyday like that.

Hey Chief, good luck in what ever you decide to do but do it quick cause believe it or not housing prices are starting to go back up.
