This Guy Is My Hero

Howdy y'all ;)  I received a special invite to join this site, and not being one to ever turn down a special invite, or a cold beer, here I am :P

I started-out 4xin' with my pops yeeeeeears ago in our 1970 FJ with the 350 Chevy.  After our first "soft roll" I was hooked.  In '77 the old man hooked me up with his buddy's 1970 Bronco - my first love :-*  From there it was on to a '76 Jimmy, traded for a '76 CJ5, then a '72 Scout, sold for a new '82 Ranger (4x), soon to be abandoned in favor of a '77 F250 (HD axle, you know, the one with the 1 ton hubs?), and then blah, blah, blah (this is the era when brain cells were expendable  ???), and now I've come full circle to a '74 Bronco Sport.

The Sporty is a bit of a project.  We've recently renewed the front end bushings & such, added power front disk brakes, replaced the rusted floor boards (thanks Desert Crawler!!!), Line X on the interior pan.  Yesterday I learned that while we were on vacation and my oldest was using it as a beach commuter, he went ahead and separated the left exhaust pipe from the header flange.  The whole exhaust is pretty rusty and is the next target for replacement.  Then it will be on to the dash rebuild, new paint, some other bolt-on goodies, interior trim...  o.k., I'll stop now because the list is NEVER finished - is it?

I must say that I am honored to have know M.T. and his fine offspring for a couple of years now.  M.T. & me have ridden dual sport two wheelers on a few adventurous outings, Desert Crawler did some super sano custom repair for me on the 4x of choice, and TagAlongGal is true sweetheart.  Not to mention the everpresent and irrepressible Lexus (I don't know if the pupster has a screen name yet, so I leave it at that).  What a great family!   Thanks for having me...
