I'm leading the club run on Sat ( Bronco / Sidewinder ) I have only done the run starting at the campsite, going over the gate keeper and up Bronco hill. Is the trail better starting with Sidewinder and down Bronco?

Its been awhile since Ive done the whole loop. Im thinking the connector to the campground is the most difficult section as I remember. Im sure there are a few here that will give you the inside scoop very soon. ThumbUp

Hi Friend,
Just a update on the trails up there. Trail rating for Sidewinder (trail # 8) is a 2+ to 3 = 31 inch tire or better and a traction devise a plus, it's 1 mile long and takes most people with near stock vehicles about an hour to an hour and a half.

Bronco Peak (trail #3) is rated at a 3 to 3+ = 33 inch tire or better and at least one traction devise.  going up from the Bobcat Meadows
side.

Bronco Peak Connector (trail #3A) (to Corral Canyon Campground) is rated 4 to 4+ going up. 3+ to 4 going down. Would strongly suggest at least one locker, but best with two. This trail is the hardest trail in So Cal and claims most of it's victims with in the first 100 yards.

Bronco Flats (trail #5) is  rated at a 3 to 3+ = 33 inch tire or better and at least one traction devise. This trail has a few very narrow spots that are unmanageable for fullsize rigs.

Here is a link to a map of the trail system.

X2 on what Mikegyver said.

If you've been up it before then I would suggest going that route again.  It's definitely the toughest route, but I don't think you'll have a problem.  BUT,     what about the other people you are leading, I doubt they all have MOGS? Or do they (I might want to check that out? eek).  I would listen to what Mike posted earlier about the trail rating and requirements. I personally hate going down hills so I think going up is easier. stuart Some parts of the trail can be tricky. helpsmilie
Maybe start the group off at Sidewinder and if all is good go do Bronco up hill, or Bronco Flats.
The trail has really changed depending on how long ago your last trip was?
Good luck, take lots of pics and be sure to post 'em up!

Thank you for the info on the trail. It has been about 4 months since I ran CC so I will see what has changed. The rest of the group has well built CJ, TJ, YJ, ?J and I'm in the lead so I can pull and tug out stuck guys. I just hope its not going to be to hot.

Im not sure how much to trust these guys but they have had a pretty good track record as of late. This is located in the SCUFF run section in the stickys.
