Well I finally had things together enough to go wheeling with my new 1 tons. Unfortunately on the first obstacle I sheared two bolt on my cross-member and melter my positive battery terminal and was done for the rest of the day but I did get two pics of the pile climbing a big ledge. Here are some pics and I will post a video later today.

I have DRW axles and until I get H1s i am running the dually rims for the backspacing. I know its ghetto but it got me out wheeling faster.

I was born and raised in San Diego and have been out to the hammers a couple of times in high school but never had my own rig. I am excited to get back and wheel it with my own rig!

I have a dana 20 t-case and 4.10 in the axles. I would really like 5.13s in the axles. then I could run bigger tires. The teralow gears for the 20 are really expensive for a small increase in gearing

I am wheeling in Idaho, that is where I am going to college, but I will be done in December and back in San Diego to get some SD wheeling back in my blood!

What trans?

LoMax Dana 300 is bombproof but not cheap. I have a buddy with an xtra 300 I think.

I'd go 5.13 with whatever tires those are, look like 38s. The way you're geared, you're going to kill your trans if it's and auto or clutch if it's a stick. You'll have more control too. I'm not into the toyota crowd million to one gearing thing but you need to get lower.

I have a th400 and yes I do need 5.13 gears but funds are thin so I am just going run what I got. Yeah they are 38s shocks would also help with how bouncy the ride is  LMAO

Yikes, 400s are geared high. That will be hard on the tranny. Try not to slip the torque converter too much and maybe put a trans temp gauge on it.

I am installing a 6 pass tranny cooler in the next week or so, that will help along with a temp guage.

I am jealous how cheap the toyota guys can run dual cases. you guys can buy two cases and the adapter and for what it just costs for the adapter I need. That sucks, I am jealous.
