This is my first build thread so comments are appreciated. Three weeks ago i bought my second 4x4 (73 scout II with a 345/4 speed manual/dana 20) after selling my 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ive always loved the body lines of the scouts and they are simple and to the point The scout came pretty reliable as is so the costs have been kept to a minimum Things that need to be done: electronic ignition fuel tank leak(clean up) 32/11.5/15 BFG MUDs or Procomps shackle bushings 4 barrel intake emergency brake bigger air filter gas pedal bushings trailer lights tailgate hinges bucket seats center console underhood cleanup(a lot!!!!!!) In the next year Im hoping to get these things done: roll cage mounts for hi-lift,tool box,etc bed line the inside new floor pans dual battery winch tube bumpers here is what she looks like now: tell me what you guys think and im always open for suggestions

Suggestion : MTRs or maybe KM2s = sidewall strength.

That area in the intake valley has a damn aroung it. So there may be a hole there to pinpoint lubrication. But that does look a little odd. Let us know what you find out.

first off...i went and picked up a used complete 345 today from san diego and it supposedly came out of a running truck but when i got there it was outside without a tarp on it but for $125 i couldnt pass so i brought it home and opened it up and 4 out of the 8 cylinders had rust in them. so after about an hour of cleaning i got it to turn over by hand but i dont know how deep the rust is so im hoping it doesnt need to be bored out. if that is the case im just going to sell what i can and start over with a new motor...or try to make one good one out of two...trying to be optimistic right now but my funds are depleting quickly...hahaha
secondly...that hole in the valley IS a factory hole because the motor i just got has it as well....looks kinna crappy but if thats how they came...its not robbing power so no worries
finally...my block looks to be in a lot better shape then the "new" one..looks like this one has had some hard miles
