i got some stuff done on the scout today...i was tired of running around without a radio and a cb..so thats what i focused on...o...and getting rid of the rats nest of wiring from the PO

taking the dash apart...surprisingly simple

before

after
tomorrow im going to get the cb in and reroute the speaker wires but everything works and it sounds great for two door speakers
hopefully i will be able to hear it over the tires

today i started a new mini project on the exterior of the scout. i ripped off the flares that were falling off anyways and im prepping the fenders where the flairs were for some black spray on bedliner...nothing too extreme but shood spruce it up a lil and protect it from further rust....the only cancer area i found was the front driver side wheel-well...it looks like thats where the water goes when it gets into the cowling...my grandfather wants to do a professional job of bondo-ing it and then painting over but i was hoping to cut out the cancer and replace it but i dont know how extensive it is and since it is my daily driver i would rather not cut half the fender off right now...i will get some more pics up soon
o and one pic i have to throw in here is my latest favorite from BC109.....talk about flex

i went through the Cal4Wheel safety checklist and after mounting my fire extinguisher to the driver's seat...the Scout passed with flying colors....will try to post up some pics later..i have to get it and my dirtbike cleaned and ready for this weekend...the dirtbike is going to guys at Fineline Suspension to get some much needed upgrades and the girlfriend and i are taking the scout out to palm springs for a late ScoutsWest x-mas party...anyways should have some more action shots some time next week

UPDATE!! UPDATE!!

Ok, I have to admit, I've been holding out on you guys for a couple months while I made some big improvements to my little Scout.

First things first: 32" tires to 35" tires (w/ new rims)

I went with the oldschool white wagon wheel look

After putting the 35's on, I realized I needed a body lift and some fender trimming.
Before:

After ( 1.5" bodylift)

I found some interesting stuff in those fenders.

A little forklift flexing to make sure i cut enough. A little cutting goes a long way.

Also decided to get rid of my ragjoint.

Painted my steering column

To account for the increased rolling resistance and larger diameter, I had to change my gears. Instead of swapping D44 carriers and ring & pinions, I decided the smarter way was to swap in a fully rebuilt T19. Chris @ Rocktech Offroad in La Habra helped me out with the T19 and the new crossmember. T18 1st gear= 4:1           T19 1st gear= 6.72:1
The good thing about a T19 is its a wide ratio which results in the same highway gearing. (1:1)
Tranny out:
