got a explanation and question for you. i just fired my 74 k10 short box up for the first time since rebuilding the motor i blocked off the egr and it wont idle right and when i push the break pedal the motor dies.so i looked in the carb and the passenger side of the carbs idle function is not flowing properly. obviously the fuel flow is a problem but after telling you about the break pedal causing the motor to go dead do you think this could be linked to a vacuum issue?

That's what I was thinking. Make sure all unuse vac. ports on your carb are blocked off. Also check if the vac. hose to your break booster not leaking air at the booster it self. You can block off the port to the carb where the booster connects and see if it run better, then you'll know if you looking in the right direction.. I believe you may also have to adjust the carb when you bypass the egr. ?

What's on the other side? Maybe we should look first. (Na' it will give us something talk about later)

I remembered another problem I had with my blazer 24 years ago  LMAO  the linkage on the carb wore out and was sucking air. ran like  001_9898 WD-40 spray your linkage while its running and see if the rpm picks up
