got the bfh, was just lucky, in a weird sort of way, that the u-joint at the stub was broken and the unit bearing just sorta fell out, it wolda been a long drive back to the world to get a socket

the lesson here is; loan a tool, get it back before the trip or make sure he goes with you  ~clown

You would have been doubly mad if I went along because I would have almost certainly not brought that socket.  ~oops 

I think it is a 36mm. The one you loaned me was a different size, for the yoke nut.  I'll dig them out tomorrow and double check.

Definately a breaker bar, even if it's a shortie.  I have broke too many ratchets trying to break stuck bolts loose.  Or you could just try and shoot em off, LOL    ~punk ~2guns

I have a pretty complete set of tools in a convenient toolbox, its never let me down. Spare axle shafts. Motor/Gear/Trans oil. Soap.coolant. Recovery strap. rags . Bottle/ scissor jack. Jumper cables. Tire plug kit. blanket. hoses/clamps/zip ties. Good sized cooler . basic first aid kit.

I used to carry just any tool u could use then I relized my jeep didnt break that often and every time I rolled I had to pick  ~poo up so I starting cutting back    by that I mean I started cutting the back of my jeep off now I have an iced chest with beer a spare tire a 9mm and toilet paper(cause rocks began to hurt)and thats about it
