i just recently got rid of the old smitty built front bumper i had on and got a new one from trail gear. matched that up with an M8000 warn winch and now maybe ill be able to keep it off of its lid. i also removed my old center console with a new one made of steel that i can lock.

new one courtesy of trail gear, i painted it with rustoleum truck bed liner.

got the bumper installed, just waiting on the winch.

the center console was pretty easy to replace. the old one was trashed, you cant see it in the picture but is wasnt even able to stay in. and i didnt like how low it was, i couldnt rest my elbow on it. and that was a big deal.

old console

new one.

im really having a hard time with the suspension. its a 3" front 4" rear from procrap. its extremely stiff. kind of feels like the axles are welded to the frame. i thought it was the shocks. so i took them off and drove around. no help. felt the same. so i know its the springs. i dont quite know yet what i want to do with the suspension in the future but i need to do something now to help. does anyone have a ny good ideas. i was thinking about the shackels. most of the lifts ive installed came with new longer shackels. (i didnt put this one on) my truck still has the stock shackels on it, could it help to get longer one's?

any ideas??????

Procomp leafs are just really stiff and don't flex, you could try taking a leaf out.

no  do it the right way    order ur self a high steer kit from trail-gear     and front spring hanger   and if ur looking at doing it cheap get a set of stock 4wd toyota rears and put use them up front

or go complete trail gear springs   and hangers     and to avoid rollovers stay as low as possible

i have threes all the way around with 37s   and stock shock mounts  and my  junk work extremely well the ride on this thing is nice and   and i dd this thing

i want to get the whole front trail gear kit. but i dont know if i want to keep the leafs in the rear or do a 4link. eventually im going to have a cage built around it and its just gonna be a trail rig. but i got a buddy thats got a set of 3" springs and i think those will work out better than the procomp so ill put those on for now so i can save up for the tg kit.

If its got a mechanical oil pressure gauge that has the little nylon tubing just throw it away and go get an electric one cause that little tube rubs an melts super easy.  If I had it to do all over again I would have not bought the cluster and just bought individual gauges cause after the tubing on the oil gauge breaks you end up spending more money replacing it than you would have just getting an electric one in the first place.  They do sell copper tubing kits to replace the nylon but I have't tried it.   Other than that the instructions are usually pretty good and its fairly straight forward.  If you've got any questions just ask.  Or shoot me a PM and maybe I can cruise over and help and Cheers

As far as the springs go I can only tell you that good well made leaf packs are super important to haveing a good ride.  The cheaper packs will lift you up but will not flex at all.  I say do some reasearch and see what the popular OEM swaps are or start saving and get some good deavers or nationals.

its not that hard just follow the directions very carefully     is it an electronic  or mechanical water temp sensor??  the mech. ones areeasy the thread right into where the old sensors are on the intake manifold    and the oil pressure sending unit goes onto the pass side of the block   and its usually a simple two wire connection for the illumination

as for the volt meter   i have no idea mever really hadto screw with one

those gauge sets are really basic. the mechanical oil pressure gauge works but it comes with the nylon tubing witch is junk. it will work but has a tendency to break. for about 9 dollars you can get the copper tubing which wont break. the water temp gauge is mechanical and you just relace the factory temp sensor with the new mechanical probe. for the volt gauge just find a key on power source and hook it to that.

as far as the springs... cant help you much there

well all of that sounds pretty easy. and i think that i will go out and get the copper tubing instead of the nylon. so im pretty sure i can handle of of this.

now what if i wanted to install a tachometer? how are those things to install?

I just find a key on 12 volt source at the fuse block and tie the volt meter gauge into that.  The tachometer is easy also.  Just follow the instructions no big deal.

the tack requires a key on power, ground, and a tach signal (I.E. ground of ignition coil for older rigs). if it has a back light you can hook it up to the dimmer for the headlights or a light on the back of the dash. then it will light up light like the dash or dim out if you turn it down

my rig now does not have a tachometer. im sure it has some way of having one wired in because it was offered in the sr5 (i think) model like kevins (calcat)

i guess ill just have to try and do it and see what happens. if its all as easy as you are saying than i shouldnt hopefully have any problems.

moorehouse (dave) is coming over tomorrow to help install a few items if anybody else wants to join in.
