so i just realized that if you look closely at the drive shaft i made youll notice that it is not welded up. it has been welded i just posted the picture of the mock up by mistake. i got the front axle all wrapped up yesturday. the passenger side wasnt so bad now that i figured out what i was doing. gonna get the u-joints installed in the d-shaft so i can install that. then ill be able to figure out what the pinion angle needs to be for the rear axle. after that ill be able to install the rear shocks. progress is nice.

And i had enough time to bake a pie.

so i got the rear shocks kind of mocked up. got what is goign to be the rear bumper and also got the steering box mocked up as well.

im a little lost about the rear shocks thought. you can see in the pictures that what i was trying to go for was mounting them ontop of the axle facing inboard. the rear axle shackle are mounted to the jonny joints so there is going to be considerably more flex left and right. but i dont know what angle the shocks should be mounted at. or should they be mounted on the sides of the axle opposite each other but still facing inboard. ive see so many different set ups that i really dont know which one is going to be the best for my application. any ideas would be great. ive tryed to include the best pictures i can get but my truck is obviousily not going anywhere anytime soon so if you need to see somethign from a different angle let me know.

so this is pretty much what im thinking about doing for the shocks. doing this they both have about 7"s of shaft exposed sitting with the weight of the vehicle on the axle. i was thinking about bringing them closer to the frame so i can have it at an even 6" of shaft exposed. althougth i know that its gonna be about an inch off because im not mounting the shocks to the underside of that cross member. im going to mount them in it.

sitting at about ride height. im pretty sure im going to be able to get it out of the garage when im done.

That should be good if u move the tops away from eachother and 6 should be pretty good. I borrowed my buddies truck this weekend and went to the hammers.  He has his rears like ur picture thatthing has so much body roll and felt super sketchy on offcamber down hill stuff.

Ya it worked good. Except the whole body roll stuff.   And sidewall flex that it has without 40s and 15s.    It went everywhere I pointed it and I didn't break anything.  Maybe its I just have mine set up so different I might just be used to that.
