A meeting place for So Cal Full Sized Jeep enthusiast (SCFSJE) to get local info on their rigs is needed, While the IFSJA is a great group and their resources are the best available I think we need a local meeting place. Lets give this a shot for a while and see how it works. If you have a FSJ question and you would like local help post it up and lets see what happens?

anyone know of a cheaper way than the Milemarker conversion kit to replace a quadrapuke, i mean quadratrac transfer case, or anyone know where i can get an emergency drive switch (the transmission side) for a good price, my Tcase doesnt have the ability to lock into "emergency" mode, eventually i want to just do the MM or some kind of part time conversion kit, so i can get better gas mileage and be able to go out on the trails more

I may have a switch for you but i'll be out of town for the next 13 days. I'll see if I can find it before I leave. I have done the mile marker part time conversion and I did NOT see any increase in gas mileage at all. If you can find a np208 or 205 for cheap it might be a better alternative for replacing your QT. Both are stronger and have better parts availability.
Dave.

the np208/205 are they an even swap or does it require special bracketing/adapters? in the meantime let me know how much you would want for the switch cause i'd definately be interested in it for a short term fix to my current Tcase

Not sure if you can quote me on this but I beleive you have to replace your tranny output shaft with a shorter one to run a 205 or 208.
Also lets get a little more specific. Do you need the actual e-drive switch that goes in the glove box or the diafram that goes on the transfercase or what. I have most of that system somewhere in my garage from my PT kit. I replaced alot of parts that were still good. Let Me Know!
Dave.

other question i had about this subject is there a way to switch the replace the edrive diaphram switch with just a mechanical switch that i could like pull on a cable or push a cable to do the same thing the vacuum switch does? cause that would be my other alternative to finding a new diaphram switch

Hey guys I just got back into town. I'll get to searching for that diaphram tonight. There is a thread or a right up on IFSJA about converting the diaphram to a cable using a generic choke cable but I only know of that one guy who has done it and I can't find the thread yet. I'll let you know what I find.
Dave.

You do have to switch out the tail shaft of the tranny to mate up any other t-case. The quadratrac has a 10 splint input so the tail of the tranny is also the wierd 10 spline. I had a quadratrac in the cherokee so I bought a th400/dana 20 combo and bolted that up instead, and it worked great and I twin sticked the D20 witch is nice.
Also on some of the D20 the front yoke to the front drive shaft is a flange tyoe yoke like a toyota but the front yoke on the quadratrac wil fit and replace the flange on the Dana 20. It is a little known swap and is done on broncos all the time.
I personally don't like the full time 4-wheel drive and would swap out the tranny and t-case for somthing different. If your quadratrac had the low range you can usually sell it on IFSJA for a decent price. I did that with mine and it help off-set the cost of the tranny/t-case. I payed $200 for a working tranny/tcase combo for my cherokee.

i may look into that, im still debating doing the part time conversion kit from mile marker, if i do that then the switch would be obsolete, but that being said, i dont have the extra $$ to do that right now, so im hoping to fix that part so i can have a better wheelin experience until i can afford to replace the entire set up or do the conversion

Actually with the part time conversion you still need all the e-drive switches. On the part time kit the e-drive is what actually puts the t-case into 4 wheel drive.

No I stayed with the vacuum shifting cause at the time I didn't know about converting it to manual shift. The vacuum works pretty good but there is alot that could be potential problems with it. So far I haven't had any problems with it and really how often will you be switching in and out of 4 wheel drive. Once I hit the dirt and have to use 4x4 i just leave it there.

Well unfortunatley I can't seem to find that diaphram. Sorry to get your hopes up. I searched everywhere and can't find it and the worst thing is i know I have it somewhere cause I made sure I saved it just in case so it has to be here somewhere. Sorry man.

Maybe you can do an intro here and tell us a little about your rig and yourself. http://www.socalultimate4x4.com/index.php/board,9.0.html Might want to read through the rules also we are a bit different in what we allow on our posts. No Shape Shifting here.
