I can see one of those as my next project. Why aren't there more? Lack of aftermarket parts for lifts, etc? Factory motor size, gear ratio, and axle?
Thanks

no trust me there are a ton of them around...i didnt think so until i bought one and got hooked up with ScoutsWest....we have over 100 members and most of these guys own two or more scouts...another thing to my surprise was the huge aftermarket for them..granted not as big as the TJ's aftermarket but still you can find almost anything you need whether your restoring or offroading....the only thing that is "weird" about them is the international motor and trans but they are bulletproof pieces and when you get them to run right they wheel and drive great....the transfer case and axles are pretty standard stuff (dana 20 or 300 and Dana 44 axles)...plus a lot of them are pre-smog..scouts are great starting platforms

. I definitely want a Scout. First choice is a '68 - '71 800a; second choice would be a '75 Scout II. I also really dig the late '60's IH Travelalls. One day soon.
