After Christmas, I am going to start assembling parts for a SOA lift with cross over steering.  I think I have a pretty good list of needed parts, but I am looking for input to make sure I am not forgetting anything.  I know there will be small parts that I am going to need that I wont realize till I start tearing things apart, but I want to make sure that I have the big items.  So far this is what I think I need:

SOA kit                             $100.00    BJ's Offroad  *changed*
shackle flip kit                   $100.00    user off IFSJA
right side flat top knuckle    $ 75.00     junk yard
right side steering arm       $ 80.00     partsmike
stud kit                            $ 25.00     partsmike
extended brake lines          $105.00    BJs offroad
4"drop pitman arm            $ 65.00     BJs offroad *added*
F250 shock mount             $20.00      partsmike
new shocks                      $200.00    estimate    *added*
HIEM kit                          $50.00      Ruff Stuff    *added*

total                                $820.00

Is there anything that I am forgetting about?  I think I have it all.  I imagine that I would have to extend the drag link, so I might have to add some TREs and DOM tubing.  Any suggestions, tips, or hints would be greatly appreceated.

Dropped Pitman arm? about $90.00 then pick up some taller tires and throw them on the stock rims for a while. Then go to the 35's and do the re gear. then.... LMAO now the chase begins, remember (just empty every pocket)!

Get the correct pitman are from BJ's,  the ford arm that people say will work doesn't work that well.  It's about an inch too short.  Ask me how i know!!! Junker

It's hard trying to save money as well as being cheap.  the important thing is to get the right thing first.  One thing for sure, this will be a fun upgrade.

I hear ya, it is gonna take me a few months to collect the parts I need, but I am patient.  As I figure what I need, I will slowly collect them till I have them all.  I am hoping that it will be easier than I think it will, but we will see.

I added and changed a few parts on my list.  Let me know what y'all think.  Also, I am looking at some some HIEMs from Ruff Stuff.  I want to use these to build a drag link from the drop pitman arm to the passenger side steering knuckle.  I am thinking of the 3/4" HIEM kit with a left and right thread.  Do you think 3/4 will be strong enough or should I go with the 7/8" HIEM kit?  Not sure if the 3/4 would work or would even be a good size.

He had a shackle flip kit that he is selling.  The flip kit is the same one sold from BJ's web site.  There is a guy on the IFSJA site named Tad who makes the SOA/ SF kit and sells it through BJs web site.  Through BJs site, the SF kit is about $200.  There is a guy on the IFSJA site for sale section that is selling a SOA/SF kit as well as two flat top knuckles with the steering arms already attached for about $700.  That is actually a pretty good deal if you are looking.

No, those are the parts I am planning on buying.  They are about $20 dollars and are a much stronger shock mount that the stock FSJ mount.  I fugure while doing the lift, I might as well apgrade the shock mount.

Well,
I got my hands on a JK shaft which is longer and a little beefier that my stock FSJ front shaft.  I am hoping that will fit, but I might have to lengthen or shorten both the front and rear shafts.  That is part of the "fun of doing this kind of lift.  I know with the 6" spring lift both shafts are okay, so I will have to wait and see what needs to be done.  I think I am going to have to notch the crossmember and I am sure there will be a few other issues that will have to be sorted out  punk.

These old jeeps are hit are hit and miss.  They vary alot.  Some guys have to lengthen the front shaft and some don't.
