With all the trails being closed we actually have the opportunity to help build some new ones!

I received a call this morning from Richard Tull, CC park ranger in charge. This Saturday January 9 at 9:30 am work will start on new 4x4 trail #11, The Motorcycle Tot Lot, And the motorcycle single track trail the length of the park. It is all marked out and ready to be cleared and groomed. Richard needs volunteer manpower. Tools and instruction will be provided. We need to bring safety glasses of some type, gloves, water, and lunch. It dosnt sound like very heavy work just grooming the original trek. Its our park and we have a golden opportunity to improve it considerably. I volunteered us to work on the 4x4 trail 11 if you would like to join us it would be appreciated.   If you can make it please post up so we know how many to expect. Meet at 9:00 sharp at four corners parking area.  ThumbUp

Will we be cutting brush for the alternate routes or is this just a trail clean up?

What's on the other side? Maybe we should look first. (Na' it will give us something talk about later)

This is to cut a brand new trail that has been marked out with flags. We will be working on the 4x4 trail. keep in mind that they don't like to go through vegetation so there shouldn't be too much hacking. This is not a regular trail cleanup. ThumbUp

Crap.

Won't be able to make it that weekend but it may be safe to assume this won't all get done in one day unless an army shows up.

Thanks Bob, for organizing this stuff and keeping the ball rolling.

This is volunteer work, so come late and leave early if needed. Work it around your schedule as much as possible. Once we get some direction on what has to be done as well as how to do it we will set up more work days as needed. I hope everyone realizes how unique this is in these times,  Actually gaining wheeling trails this close to town... I hope we can get a good size turn out and get this thing done before some *&(^%$ can shut it down. LMAO Actually all the hoops have been jumped through, all the approvals have been accepted so this is finally a GO... clap clap clap

I'll be there for sure but how much wheeling will be involved in the actual project?  I don't want to commit to being able to froad my jeep right now so if there is much wheeling involved i will need to ride with somebody once we're out on the trail.

Are little guys (ages 7 & 5) welcome to tag along as well?  (my wife works Saturdays, so that is always Dad+boys day).

Yes by all means... This isnt a SCUFF thing, its a 4x4 community thing. clap I put the word out on the Jeep forum, IFSJA forum, and SDAR motorcycle forum, I see that Justruns posted it last night. So if you have a group that uses the trails often by all means let them know to join us. This is a great way to show how much we can come together as a single 4x4 community for the good of all users.  punk

where is the 4 corners parking area

all the way at the top of the hill in Corral Canyon. It's pretty much the end of the paved road and you can't miss it when you get there.
