That was an awesome turn out.  It was great to meet a few new faces and see a few faces that I hadn't had a chance to see in a while.  It truely is amazing what a few groups can do when given the chance.  Looks like the one of the additions was completed roughly today.  David and his monster dodge was a site to see out there.  Working with SD4X4 and the other clubs was pretty cool.  For those of you who could not make it, we really have an awesome opportunity here.  I thought that we were working on closely controlled trails that required years of planning.  While years of planning, fighting, and negotiations did happen, we have a lot of control on the direction of these trails.  This was just one day of many to groom and build some really great trails when so many trails and OHVs around us are being closed down.  We should all really give thanks to Metal Twister who remained involved in this process and got us where we are today.  It was a lot of work today, and it will be a lot of work in the future, but this is something worth doing.  If you couldn't make it today, make sure you make it to a future work event.  We all need to help improve and maintain CC.  I had a great time today and look forward to the next trail improvement day.

THE NEW TRAIL IS UNDERWAY...

Still lots of fine tuning to be done but we did Run' and make the loop'

David and his crew started at the top of the trail as we all started at the lower trail entrance

We met up at the top turnaround point at the same time...

We need to get all three areas that were Started today opened before we can officially open the trails.

Hey Chief just an FYI... Richard and Jan are the ones that have done all the work. I just kind of arrange things. I think now that they have gone to all the effort to clear the way and authorizing the trail build, we need to clear the trail and make it usable for everyone. They did the hard stuff, we get to play...

I see that there were 5 volunteers to help on the young riders lot... any ideas how we can support that effort more? We need to get it ALL done so we can have our grand opening weekend to show case the park to the media and everyone else...

Well, for my first event as an official SCUFF Member I had a great time.  This is definitely going to be a great trail for future runs.  Everyone that made it put in  a lot of work and for those that didn't make it there will be plenty of opportunities in the future.  There are more trails to cut and plenty more fun to have out there.

So what do ya think... 1 being easy and 5 being almost impossible. Where does this trail land?

i think its a little to hard to say right now. i know its definately not a 5 and there might be some spots that could be a 4 to certain people but i would say maybe a 3. i think over time it will get kind of mowed down and the trail will tell us what it wants to be rated.

it was a great day to work on this trail. i cant wait to see what its going to look like in the next couple of years. i wonder if the same route that we planned today will still be the way everyone goes or if it will change over time. me and megan missed alot of davids bulldozing of the trail due to her wonderful dog ruby. but i still had a blast. i was suprised by the turn out. now lets see if we can keep up that level of cooperation.

Somewhere In between sidewinder and bronco peak....  then again I only Walked it     surrender
.
Allot of side x side (easy/hard) routes
A little harder than sidewinder if you take the easy Line
A little easier than bronco if you take the hard line
And a couple of Impossible lines also i think, no one made them today !!!

But Keeping in mind its a fresh trail now, after a couple hundred of Jeeps run it will change things... for the Worse.    clap

Outstanding!

So how much more work is needed? Will there be anymore offical work days on the trail?

Many more work days in the near future... What do ya think about a weekend of Primitive camping wheeling and working on the trail? Or maybe another meet and greet on the trail with a work party before? Or .... Camping

Since the mini-trail builders above have just started riding dirt bikes themselves, I would certainly be willing to help/work over at the Young Riders Training Area (remember, it's not a "track.")

I definately like the idea of a camping/ cleaning trip or a meet-N-greet/ cleaning trip.  Those are some great ways to get so important work done while being able to have a little fun doing it as well.

The boys & I had a great time yesterday working/volunteering at the "#11 challenge-loop trail clearing" day.  The boys were troopers all day long, and didn't get into too many peoples' way.

I'd also like to thank Metal Twister for keeping on top of this, and giving us an opportunity to be involved.

And, to Redneck Sami (Tony) for driving our Escondido crew all the way down to Corral Canyon (it's a bit further than I remember from the last time I was there).
