You can try a Lock Right fairly inexpensive but they can get a little squirreley on slick roads if you are not paying attention but they are a good value. I had them front and rear on my cj-7 overall I was happy with them

No personal experience with them but from what I've heard the EZ Lockers are garbage.  You might want to do some research before buying.  As far as running a rear locker with the Quadratrac, from what I have read it should be fine but you "ARE" putting alot more stress on your viscous coupler and the t-case chain.  Keep that in mind when deciding.

now when you say EZ lockers are garbage do you mean all lockers of the simple style like EZ locker or just EZ locker brand cause ive seen similar products from different manufactures, that run there about the same price, my thoughts are im a cheap bastard and would rather spend 150-250 locking my rear end vs 500-700

I'm with ya on the cheap bastard thing!!!  I was just talkin about the EZ locker brand.  BJ's Offroad had them on sale a little while ago and I did some research on them and found alot of bad reveiws.  I think they are discontinued now.

i understand the wanting to save money and getting a cheap locker. but you get what you pay for. ez lockers are in the same catagory called "lunch box lockers" aussie lockers. lock right. and there are a couple others that would fall in that catagory. they are all cheap auto lockers and are made cheaply. when you buy a cheap locker say for around 250 bucks you would have most likely saved around 250 over a stronger detroit. but if that cheap locker decided to fail on you in the middle of the trail then you could be looking at replacing the locker you just bought, ring and pinion, maybe your axles shafts, and most likey everything in your rear end. which will all cost more to fix than if you just forked out the extra dough for a good solid reliable piece of equipment, like a detroit.

again man do your thing if you want to go the cheap route just remember you get what you pay for. just my 2cents.

If you watch craigslist you can find lockers there sometimes. I got a cherry detroit for $250.

ill keep an eye on ebay and craiglist and if i cant find what i want by the time a few months have rolled by and im actually ready i will probably go cheap and end up upgrading it all later.  i know some people have had good success with lunch box lockers, for instance my brother, but i blame that on him rolling a samari with no weight what so ever

You are not running a very big tire right now so I wouldn't worry too much.  The reveiws I read with the EZ Locker were not bad cause they blew up but bad cause they didn't operate very well.  Things like very rough engagment and not staying locked up.  Google the name of the locker + reveiws and read about whatever locker you get interested in.

i actually have an aussie locker in my rear end (i didnt put it there it was done by the previous owner) i havent had any issues with and it locks up every time, even in the parking lot and sometimes around a sharp turn like the ones you would have on and on and off ramp on the highway. but it hasnt failed me yet and i run it pretty hard. cant wait to pull it out though.
