Howdy all. Ive been bitten by the 4x bug but am still stuck with 2x. I'm looking for a Cherokee so I can get off the easy trails and put some dents in some body panels. Currently I have a 97Chevy 1500 2wd that desperatly wants to be 4wd. You might look at me as a go fast guy because of the 2wd but my heart wants to rockcrawl. As soon as I get a cherokee I'll be here more but until than I'm living through all af your pics and video.

I have a wife and 4 young kids. Id love to get a 4 runner but I dont have that kind of $. Cherokees are relativly cheep, small, and I can modify the rear seating for the kids. A Wrangler would be grea but not enough room. I had an 80 CJ-7 in Highschool and loved it.

As the resident Full Size Jeep lover, let me throw in a vote for the Full Size Jeep.  You can find a Grand Wagoneer for next to nothing.  They are four door, V-8, and very capible in stock form (if you are like me and don't care about a few dents and stuff).  The down side is that aftermarket support is a little limited, but with a little research, you can do just about anything with one.  Either way, welcome to SCUFF and let us know how we can help.

P.S.- We are gonna have a meet and greet at Fudruckers in Grossmont this Wednesday at 6:00, if you can make it we would love to have you.  It is pretty easy going and laid back.  just a way for folks to get to know each other a ittle.

Thanks for the invite Chief. I will see if I can make it. I have a truck club meeting at 7p in El Cajon. I've seen a couple full size jeeps on CL but most seem to need way more work than I have time to put into one to get it trail ready. Besides getting bit by the 4x bug, I have been into lowered/airbagged trucks for many years. I have 3 huge projects in my garage right now and unfortunaly dont have much time to spend on something for my self. I had a 2wd 67 Suburban that I was going to straight axel but just didnt have the time or space in the shop to do. With a Cherokee I can throw  set of springs in the front and a locker and be more or less ready to roll.

Third Crossing at Coyote Canyon

Just got to the "T" at the top of Espenosa Trial at Corral Canyon. Not too hard for 4x but at little challenging for 2x,especially at the water tanks.

Coming back from the rock hill at Coyote Canyon. Made it about half way up, but got stopped by a rock I couldnt bump the front over.

This is my useless truck, but fun to cruz

Thanks everyone for making me feel welcome. As I said in a previous post, I have been into lowered/bagged trucks for many years. I have never seen this many people post  up post up and offer help like you all have done on an introduction thread in any minitruck forums I've been a member on. Just alot of smack talking and hatin. Everytime I check out the run reports I get bummed because I can't seem to get into something fast enough.

Mike, I'm definitely not worried about working on my rig once I get it. I'm totally expecting to break stuff. In fact I already have D60 and D44 for when I break an axle in what ever I get.

Its nice to hear that SCUFF is a easy friendly place to join in. The smack talk forums are kinda of fun for a little while but then when you try to do something serious it gets old fast. Id rather keep SCUFF small and real, opposed to large and fake. I think it also makes a huge difference when we are all local neighbors and will be bumping into each other from time to time. It matters what is said when you know the guy...

Anyway Im off the soap box and encourage you to stay locked in to the SCUFF, Good genuine wheelers here that wont steer you wrong... Oh might want to keep an eye on that Dirty D. guy. LMAO
