I was given a gently used CB now I need to get a gooooood antenna. Figured what I saved in the cost of the CB I can invest in a good antenna, if not the best antenna. What brand and model should I look for?

I have been in the trucking biz for 18 years and IMO the wilson 1000 is the best. They work great and are last forever.  You can get a roof mount (the ideal situation) or they have a magnet base mount which I have in my CJ. Either one would be great for your FSJ. E-bay has them. Usually the whip is sold seperatly so if you order one make sure you get the whip with it.

When I had my Jeep I got my antenna at Ham Radio Outlet in Claimont.  They are very helpful and have a lot of good stuff.  Check them out.

i have a radio shack 9 foot metal whip mounted center of my roof on my FSJ it doesnt get the problems of whipping around and hitting people but i get good reception with it, drawback, it scrapes through any drive through and whatnot that has a cover roof (gas stations, food, banks, etc)
