You can probally make them for lees than $100 in material at Competitive Metals. Take you a Saturday or the weekend depending on your fab skills.

so we got started working on some rock sliders yesturday. its been kind of a slow process but i think were getting there. we got alot of the tubing and brackets cut out yesturday and i got more cut out today and cleaned up all of our cuts from yesturday.

we are planning on welding them straight to the frame so i came up with a bracket that we are going to weld the cross members to and then weld all around the bracket on the frame. the brackets are going to be on the side of the frame and curve underneath of it. you can kind of see what im talking about in the picture. i mocked up a piece of the rectangle tubing that were using for the slider so i could see if i got the angle right for the cross member and bracket. after we got it all in yesturday and found out it wasnt quite right we decided to call it a night.

so anyways heres what we got so far. i plan on tacking everythign into place and then when i get a co2 bottle im going to burn it all in solid.

sliders, almost done. im hoping to have them burned together before this weekend when we plan on puttin on the lift.

i got the welded spots and grinded down spots painted for now so they wont rust. i have no idea what color braddy wants to make em.

oh and a bit of advice. make sure to always close the tank on your co2 cylinder. that way just incase you have a leak it wont be empty when you go to use it again.  dooh i burned it all together using flux cord. it will be just as strong, but the welds wont look as pretty.

got alot done today. got the new control arms on, new tranny cross member. had an issue with a stupid little bolt hole but steve (99xj) came over just in time and gave us alot of help. turns out i had the right taps for the bolt hole but not the right bolts. but he had the right bolts. so anyways. things worked out pretty good. still need to do some finish work on the front end and then tackle the rear.

i ended up punching my self in the nose and giving my self a nose bleed trying to get the track bar in. so it still never fails that i will end up bleeding at some point during the day.  taz
