Yeah man a pickle fork and a BFH!!!  Start soakin it in PB then whack the crap out of it with a pickle fork and a sledge.  Wedge the fork in from different angles until it comes off.  If that don't work get the torch out and get er done somemore!!!  I've got a couple different sizes of forks if you need to borrow them.

ill probally just go buy a pickle fork that way i got one.

and all of you that said you used a torch, wouldnt heating the metal make it expand and make it more difficult to come off? i was thinking about getting a couple of cans of compressed air and holding them up side down and just blowing through 2 straight cans and making everythign super cold.

Are you trying to get the pitman arm off the steering box or off the tie rod. I have a bitchin pitman arm puller the captures 75% of the arm and it wont damage anything. PM me if you want to borrow it.

They need to get the pitman off the steering box...

I used one I got from either Auto Zone or Kragen tool loan program.

Mike do you remember as I was leaving, you made the comment "I haven't hurt myself or gotten bloody".
I guess you spoke too soon!

The puller I have is a cone shape the captures almost all of the Pittman arm so it wont distort like the one in Mike's pics. I use it when I use to spin wrenches and it never failed me. Its yours to borrow Mike if you want.

Mike,

What do you have left to do on the front, besides pitman arm ?   Are the uppers and lower arms, springs and track bar in?
Do you need more help? Let me know.

That's good for Brady, no better way to get to know your vehicle than to put it together yourself! I'm sure your support and beer drinking are helping too.

give yourself more credit than that mike. i'm just a noob but ive learned a ton and i feel much more confident wrenchin' because of this build with you and steve. its been a long time coming but i think by this weekend we'll have it 'done'. then the fun part... we can go break her in! who knows maybe ill break something and have an excuse to pour more money into her. cant wait to get out on the trail in the very near future with all you SCUFFers!!!

before/ after and more build pics to come.

Looking real good.  So when is the test run?  YOu gonna take it out to Borrego Springs on the beat the heat run?  That would be a good shake down run if you can make it.
