I found about 8 cubic feet of storage in my Jeep today. (46" wide x 24" deep x 12" high) It's above the rear cargo area from the top of the rear seatbelt mounts (upper) forward to the main hoop of the roll bar. Thinking of either putting a cargo net there for light stuff like sleeping bags, tents, and a duffel bag for clothes. Other option is to go beg Bob to make me a shelf there. Downside to a cargo net is that it'll flap and possibly droop in the middle. While a hard rack will be more expensive to have made and will probably be more difficult to remove.

Took some rope today and made a big spider web to hold gear. The only downside is a lack of rear vision through the rear view mirror. But would be a great excuse to remove the damned thing as I hate it anyway.

Looking for thoughts on the best material for the job.

Thanks,

Lost me at 8 cubic feet of space in the jeep  LMAO I have a simple solution for your rear view mirror dislike.. I turned mine 180 to the       12 O clock position, It moves it up out of the way, gives you a better view out the front windshield and you can still keep an eye on that hot blonde following you.  clap

What's on the other side? Maybe we should look first. (Na' it will give us something talk about later)

Yeah, I did the upside-down mirror trick too.

The space is the upper 1 foot in the cargo area - from the seat belt mounts up to the roof.
Gonna put some kind of cargo net up there to hold sleeping bags, tents and the like; bulky light weight stuff.
There's still room for my dog and a big box below.
