seeing as I'm getting to the point that i will start dropping more money in the wagon and start doing some larger projects, i would start a build thread for it.

So far it is mostly stock, it has cut off fenders, poor mans block and shackle lift (which I'm not real fond of but its something for now), and a bunch of minor engine work that keeps my hungry beast running strong.

Coming soon in the very near future I will be modifying my quadratrac T-case to be no longer all time 4x4 and to become a part time system with hubs, I bought the kit with 16% overdrive.  There is a part of me that is excited yet nervous about the overdrive, in the end i will lose just a little bit of the bottom end torque but i will gain some mileage on the freeways and whatnot.  since for now its my commuter as well as my wheeler, that's important.  hopefully in the next couple weekends, if not then probably the first of next month i will be doing a build day in Escondido to do the T-case.

Let me know when you have your build day scheduled.  If I am free, I will come up and help out.  I can't promise much knowledge, but I can turn a wrench and do other meanial labor.

Its pretty straight forward install.  You don't even have to drop the t-case all the way.  You just split the case on the truck.  If you got started early on a saturday it would be no problem to have it done same day.  Mine took a month to do cause I rebulit the whole thing and they don't make the output bearings any more and it took a long time to find some.  If your just doing the part time kit its only swapping parts.  Did you get the new chain to go with the overdrive gears?

Wow man that chain had alot of slack in it.  Was really needing to get replaced.  Make sure you check the case for cracks whiles its out.  Looks good though.

Yeah that was probably your chain trying to jump a tooth.  That's the number one killer of Quadrapuke t-cases.  Its jumps a tooth and grenades the case.

so i ran into a dilemma, in tearing apart my Tcase it seems that the old case was lacking a "plastic thrust washer" as shown in the picture below, either that or my brother and i somehow managed to lose it, we've looked everywhere and cant find it.  so my question is how important is it, and does anyone know a way to get another one somehow? thanks in advance

I don't know if you need it or not but you might try Border Parts right at Bancroft and the 94 in Spring Valley.

Yeah the thrust washer is very important.  Thats gonna be pretty hard to find!!!  Make sure its not stuck to the gear or the case.  Its black and about 3 inches across if I remember right.

so i ordered the part through them, part price $8.98. so $16.59 later its on its way... lol the shipping for the little part was almost as much as the part itself. but oh well i need it. the pic below is what we got finished yesterday before we came up missing the part.  The slack looks WAY better on this chain
