I stopped by Fry's today, and they have a UNIDEN PRO538W CB RADIO for about $70.00.  I have checked a few places on-line, and that seems to be the going price.  I am going to swing by the ham outlet store on Clairmont and 163 to see about a good quality antenna and mount.  Does anyone have a SWR meter and could help me tune the dang thing?  I have never used one of those before and I would like to do it right.  Thanks in advance to anyone who could help out. punk

I got a meter but can't remember how to use it.  Let me know if you need to use it.

If you haven't bought the CB yet I'd check Wally World, they carry a Uniden for about $39. Good 40- channel radio, small frame, easy to mount.

HRO won't have a CB antenna although you can find mounts there. Fry's carries a decent Firestick clone, if you're out by Golden Acorn Casino they have a good selection of CB antennas in the truck stop store

I picked up the 538 from Frys.  I like it so far.  There is a speaker built into the front so I can hear better.  I picked up a small cobra antenna that looks like a car phone antenna on a magnet mount.  Probibly not the best set up, but it worked pretty well on Sat. for now.  I would like to get a better set up and mount, but for now, I have a little something.
