It was good to meet you as well, your jeep is even cleaner in person. Get them lockers so you can hit the rocks with us. We ended up just doing a few notches then headed back to camp early. How was Gordons?

After my failed attempt to climb Bronce Peak I finally broke open the cover. I used small pieces of metal wedged in between the spider gears and welded them to lock the front. I used the small pieces so down the road I could easily cut them out and put in a real locker without damaging anything, well the pieces broke then the welds boke. The ring looks fine now but I don't have it dropped out all of the way. Not sure if I want to weld it again (with no pieces this time) or just wait until I can get a locker in there? At least I now know what my problem is/was.

I just welded my rear spiders. I cut out 2 pieces that fit perfectly between the spiders and fit up against the cross shaft. Than I welded down each side of the plate i made and the corners where the spiders met. Melted everything together pretty much. Im more worried about an axle shaft breaking

Sounds similar to what i did, but I didn't weld everything all together after that, just the pieces. If all looks good when I drop out the carrier I may just weld it again? So far it looks like I'm very lucky it didn't take out the ring and/or pinion, but like I said, I haven't dropped it completely out yet.

Thanks and it did, thats why it was parked at that time. I thought I had fixed it after that by making a longer one, but it came apart again trying to climb Bronco peak. I'm going to have to go with a really long splined shaft, like the one Trail Gear sells.
