XJ & YJ

« on: April 10, 2010, 07:53:07 PM »

I need your guys input on this,
Im trying to put my rear axle together, my problem is that I don't have a welder and it occured to me maybe I should buy my own machine, but the ones I can afford are the 110 volts, you know the little boxes. Would this be strong enough to weld 1/4" spring perches on a ford 8.8? or maybe I should explore other options. Thanks guys.

I would look on craigs list and buy a good used 220v machine. 115 Volt machine is not going to get the job done for you.

I agree with MT.  Get a 220V welder.

If you can get the spring pads and shock mounts tacked in place, you can bring the rear end to my place and I'll weld them for you.
