I don't know which way to go here. I got my 4 pts harness ready to install but...
Factory seat belts suck off road, 4 pts. suck on road (have you every tried do reach for something while wearing them?)
Has anyone ran both set ups? Am I crazy?

By on road do you mean DD?
In my XJ I installed lap belts and piggy backed them with the stock belts. I wore the lap belt offroad but still had the stock belt for DDing it.
I've got 4 points in my YJ and just deal with them on the road. I can't reach the radio but everything else is fine. I don't DD it or anything so it's not a big deal to me.

This was an issue that cost my friend his life. The stock belts on the newer jeeps tighten up and that makes some guys not want to wear them. I would try to use both in your situation. I told my friend just bolt the 4 point lap belts in the same area as the stock ones and let them lay there while you DD, and visa versa when wheeling. If it has an idiot light just hook them together under the seat or something. Best of both worlds IMO...

It is not a DD, but I do drive it around town probably 1 or 2 days a week. I was thinking about running both styles at the same time. That was why I wanted the feedback thanks.
I will be adding the 4 pts. this weekend.

I have both a 3 point with tensioner and 4 point harness. I can use either, but perfer the 4 point when off road, usually just using the lap belt part of it unless I doing something fun.
Keep in mind, a quality 4 or 5 point safety harness is NOT street legal. I can get away with it since my rig is grand fathered in and a 3 point didn't exist when it was made. Any judge would prolly toss it anyway if your set up in the proper way.
And on that note...make sure you set them up right with a proper hard point and shoulder angle

That would only happen in good ol California. Beadlocks and a 4 pt. harnesss are good enough to go 140 mph, but not 65 mph.

Now I feel better. If it works for a guy like you, it must be ok for me! Did you mount the 4 pts. in the floor, or do you have a real cage?

I picked up my new belts last night and I have a question. To the guys that run both... Did you mount the 4pts. to the same mounting point as the factory belts?
