Just go home a few minutes ago. What an amazing day. We ended up with 17 rigs on the trail and Wymore made a cameo at Coyote Canyon. Everyone met at Christmas Circle around 9:30. We hung out for a bit, chit chatted and made introductions. We all aired down there then made out way over to the trail head at Coyote Canyon. We headed out the canyon and made it to the Third Crossing. At this time of year it wasnt very deep, maybe 18" or so. After that the camera people walked up the Staircase to get pics of all of us going up. Everyone made it up without incident. From there we went to the end of the trail at Sheeps Canyon. It took about 2 hours with all the stops to get to the end. A few had a snack. From there we headed back down the trail to Christmas Circle to have lunch and take a break. There were a few who studied the inside of their eyelids while we were there. After lunch a couple people headed home. The 15 that were left drove out to Split Mt Rd and down Fish Creek. We took a side trip on Melody Writer's suggestion to go check out the quake damage in Sandstone Canyon. WOW, thats a big chunk of rock blocking the road. That didnt stop me from trying to get through the very tight notch/V. I got about 1/2 way through and decided that the Waggy would probably get high centered since I finished only 1 rock slide prior to the run. I backed out and 4x4LOYR decided to give it a try. With some spotting from RedneckSami and alot of coaxing from everyone else he made it through. After a short break and underware change he came back the other way and made it though without much incident. After a short delay we all rolled out and tackled the Diablo Drop Off. Everyone made it up under there own power. Even Seth in his stock 90's 4 runner anfter a few attemps. From there we made our way to the S2 to air up and say our goodbyes. We finish the trail at around 8:45pm. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make it a great day of wheelin. Picks will be up soon, as for now its bed time.

Great trip yesterday. I think it was a bit much for the wife as her fun meter pegged around the time we hit the earthquake damage. The rest of the way she was saying that she would never do it again, however this morning, she mentioned that the next time"we" go out..... so there is hope still. The kids had a great time and I think they all crashed by the time we hit I-8. We were gonna stop in Alpine and grab a burger at Carl's Jr. and put a little gas in the Jeep, but with the kids sleeping, we just pressed on. So on the plus side, I spent the day driving the Jeep everywhere in only a tank and a half, so I am making a little progress on the gas milage war. Big thanks goes to reneck sami and Justchad. I noticed that my volt gage had dropped to about 12 volts. After a quick inspection at the trail head I found one of the wires to the plug for the alt broke off. Just Chad jumped in with a wiring kit and redneck sami jumped in and threw a couple of connectors on the wires and made it work. Talk about some redneck engineering. Still overall, a great day and glad we made it out there.

While it was a very long day, with 40? + and ? swings (it was down to 52? on the way home without doors & a top after spending all day in 93? weather ? brrrr!), it sure was fun wheelin? and being out in the desert.
The boys had a fantastic time getting dirty, picking up every rock, and climbing every hill whenever we stopped (which seemed like quite often). They especially enjoyed the opportunity to play in the river and catch frogs while in the middle of the desert. The only thing my boys were disappointed about was the fact that we didn?t eat dinner on the trail. Could you imagine how much longer we would have been out there if we did? (I brought MREs for the boys to eat, and they were really looking forward to trying them, I guess).
Thanks to all those who helped me get up and over the obstacle in Sandstone Canyon, especially Tony (Redneck Sami). I?ve been trying to think of a name for this new ?go through it just because it is there? obstacle. After smelling my clutch, I?m thinking something like ?clutch block? might work.
It was a great day! Thanks for putting it together, Taylor. And to Adam (Wiebewagon), thanks for letting me know about it.
Ty?

That was an awesome run!! I had a great time seeing everyone and meeting a few new faces. Finally made it home at 12:30 last night. Many props to Taylor for giving the "New Squeeze" a shot and props to Ty for making it all the way through. The Blazer did amazing out there I am very happy with it. Thanks again to everyone out there for making it a memorable run.

Amazing first run with everybody. To the guys that went, Thank you for all the encouragement. (Especially Taylor for MAKING me go up Diablo Drop-off unassisted!) The 4Runner didn't do too shabby out there for being completely stock but this run had the wife saying things like, "We need to lift your truck..." (God, I love that woman) So overall I'd say it was a complete success. I'm pretty sure I blew a seal on my power steering gear where it connects to the steering column but such is life. Thanks to everyone for making it an awesome day! Here's the link to our pics (the camera died in the middle of sandstone canyon, before the new squeeze attempts, sorry): http://s808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/4RunninB/Beat%20the%20heat%20Memorial%20Day%20Weekend%20Run/

. Sweet photos! I especially like the ones where that idiot in the black Jeep basically laid his vehicle over and jammed it through the gap that was too small.
Ty...
p.s. I showed my wife the photos, and she just shook her head and said: "I thought you said it was going to be an easy run. And you wanted to take the baby !?!?
