I have a friend that got OEM suspension parts from a Rubicon (unknown year) and wants to install it on his 1993 TJ. His goal is a small lift.

He says he has springs, shocks, misc bars and some 'arm looking things'.
I have not seen the parts yet.

Will these parts fit?
If not whats a cheap alternative for a 2-3" lift?

I was just asking cause in 1997 Jeeps went to coil springs. So I didn't want someone to get the wrong parts.

they will fit if you add coilbuckets, control arm brackets and a trackbar... If he's interested in going though with all that, might as well build a long arm kit

check out this site, lots of cool ideas.

Turns out he doesn't know what he has or wants  LMAO

It's a 2003, not 1993! And his main goal is to get it to ride better since the current shocks have 140K on them. He says it 'jars the crap' out of him on every little bump.

I suggested 4 new shocks. Sound about right? What brand and what is the cost?

Any other options if he wants to lift it slightly for $500 or less?

he can do spacers...

or replace the coils and shocks with the rubi coils and shocks

or find used coils and get shocks for it or even used shocks and if he can find used adjustable or regular control arms all for less than 500 then he'll be good

Will the rubi stuff bolt right in?
How much lift will it give?
What else will I have to tweak if it adds lift?

Anything else to consider?

How long do you think it'd take the average mechanically inclined person to swap 4 springs and shocks?

Anything else that will need to be adjusted with the added lift?

its fairly easy. its just nuts and bolts. and since its only a small amount of lift, i dont think you would have to adjust anything since your haven't changed the control arms

Turns out it's a 2000 Jeep 4.0.
Got one spring off and they are the same height as the so called rubi springs.

Thought they'd add some lift?

Looks like for now I'll just install the shocks he had since they are in better shape.

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/can-rubicon-springs-lift-stock-tj-351941/

check that out. the rubi springs have a higher spring rate, but if you want to lift it, invest either in a used lift or spacers if you wanna do it the real cheap way
