Greetings, I have an 03 Rubicon 6 inch long arm, 35" tires, I was coming down pancake rock the other day and the last 10 feet the brakes completely went out. luckly I was almost at the bottom. the brakes worked the rest of the day. could they just have got hot? the pads look ok and my fluid is full?

What do you need brakes for???  Drink The brake rotors weren't ment to be used with 35" tires, most likely u over heated them. might want to up grade (sloted / drilled) or pick up some new ones if those have been turned a few times (getting thin)  Cheers

I had the rotors and pads checked, they are good. I flushed the system and put DOT 4 fluid in. I will see if this helps. Thanks for the help here. see you on the trail, just stay behind me until the brakes test good.  Cheers

Went out? like peddle to the floor going out, or engine dying kinda of going out? Typically when brakes get hot they tend to fade away slowly. Wondering if your engine was stalling but not all the way?

Oh btw when ya get a chance do an intro so we can welcome ya like all wheelers deserve.  Drink ThumbUp

DOT 3 is the recommended fluid. DOT 4 is an acceptable alternative.

They should not be mixed.
