In my Cherokee I mounted mine on the center consoul on the passenger side. Don't know if you have a center consoul on the trans hump. In my old Landcruser I made a bracket and mounted it under dash.

when i had my taco, i had the cobra dx4. i was able to remove the ash tray and it fit perfectly right in that spot. on the 4runner i had the same radio and i was able to mount it in the dashboard right under the stereo. i had to remove the little pocket i had there but it was ok.

there is some plastic that the ashtray is held into that you have to cut out of the way. but other than that theres plenty of room behind it.

pull that little pocket thing out from under neath the stereo and mount it there. if you mount it in the back there you might someday go to throw something back there and end up breaking it. will it fit in the ashtray spot?

no it wont, dis reguard. thats why in my 4runner i never mounted it there. the vents for the heater are right be hind it and this cb is too long. it sticks out like 3 inches from the dash. but it would definately mount under the stereo.

Mine is overhead behind the little temp/compass display thingy. The main reason I put it up there was because the speaker is on the bottom of mine. I don't know where the speaker is on yours but you might want to cosider being able to hear it. Oh and if you decide to put it up there make sure the mic is somewhere that its not going to fly of and hit you in the head when you get on the trail.  I figured that out pretty quick  dooh ouch

I think the pocket is holding up the stereo I'm going to take a closer look this week. ThumbUp

Same as mine that's why i was thinking back there then the speaker would point at the front, as far as the mike i could mount it on the center column just a thought. stuart
