I got into wheeling about 4 years ago.  I built up (minor) a 2002 TJ, got it on 33s, all black with some custom mods like a rear storage hatch.  You can check it out on my website here.  It was stolen shortly after this pic.

Some idiot stole that one from my work and I ended up getting a 06 rubicon unlimited.  2" SL, 1" BL, rear DIY fender lift (to prepare for 35s on a LCG build).  MM 9.5K lb winch.  Stock 31s until I do the DIY front fender lift.

I like wheeling in Borrego and big bear and did gold mountain this weekend.  You can see some pics of the new jeep and minor mods in my sig link.  I'm also into camping, hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, etc.  I'm planning on getting my tech license so I can talk on 2m soon.  I love burning metal and hacking useless stuff off my jeep.  I work as a chemist for my day job and as an EFI tuner for my after work job.  Most of the work involves custom tuning fords like supercharged mustangs.  I'm in the process of setting up my dyno shop in Coronado (link in sig).  I will dyno the crap out of the jeep as well as test to see if there is any power available from basic engine mods.  I'm looking for the "free" type of mods, not $400 CAIs.  (I'm not counting on making any power, but if i could get a reliable 5-10 hp i'd be stoked).  My first tests will be to determine the power loss from high IATs and loss from when the fan is running. (the fan feels like it really bogs the jeep down)

Thanks guys.  I posted in the big bear thread because i think i talked with a couple of you on gold mountain sat.

My jeep was stolen from my work in miramar / mira mesa.  Private parking lot (no gates, but just our company) and 24/7 security.  I think it was an inside job and they watched me for a while so they knew i bent over to hit the kill switch.  The outdoor cameras are in the budget for next year! Do'h, you would think that with 100+ inside cameras that they would put 3 outside to cover the exits!  My new jeep has a crap load of security stuff, like slim jim proof doors.  My ignition wires are wrapped in duct tape, zip ties, bailing wire, etc so it would take 10 min to gain access to any of them, covered any place under the dash that they were accessible.  If somebody else ever does steal it, i'll find them for sure. I got paid very well from insurance so the rubi LJ upgrade only cost me a couple grand (and 4 years newer).  I still have a lot to do on it, and have my first kid on the way in november! Better get going!!!

Welcome Joe glad you took the time to post your intro. It also looks as if you might have bumped into some of the guys and gals up in Big Bear this weekend. Hope you enjoy the site. Cheers

Welcome aboard, Joe.

I was the trail-leader on the Gold Mountain / Dishpan Springs / Swimming Extravaganza this past weekend (July 24, 2010).  Unfortunately, I did not have an opportunity to speak with you in the "rock garden" on G.M. due to the fact that I "blew-out" my flip-flop (Stepped on a pop-top / Cut my heel had to cruise on back home -- little Jimmy Buffett humor) when I exited the Jeep after crossing the rocks.  I had to spend my time fixing my darn shoe, rather than watch the big yellow Jeep get stuck.  Oh well.

I like to wheel in Big Bear, as well.  Make sure you join us next time!

I "blew-out" my flip-flop
I never wheel in sandals.  I wear my 5.10 approach shoes with sticky climbing rubber on them.  Sandals are not as "precise" on the pedals, and i love to scramble on rocks.  My cousins had sandals and complained about walking on the rocks.  I'll do my best to meet up for the next run.  thanks for all the "welcomes"

I never wheel in sandals.

Haha the only time I get stuck is when I wear flip flops! they are my bad luck.

The reason why I asked where you're jeep was stolen was I live in MiraMesa and thought I remembered you're stolen jeep story from jeepforum. Atleast your got a better jeep!

Yeah, that was probably me posting on JF.  Not anymore after Jerry Bradsford banned me for proving him wrong too many times and pointing out that him and Blaine are the "savvy" promoters.  Oh well, its better now that i don't have to watch those two try and pull the wool over the unsuspecting sheeple on JF while they promote savvy, and regurgitate the same wrong info over and over (JB, not Blaine). Its funny how mrblaine pretends to be some hardcore JV wheeler instead of the owner of savvy.  I guess that's savvy marketing! haha.

Jerry is on this site from time to time as well and we havent had any issues with him or anyone else here so please leave your bad blood on the jeep forum. Keep in mind our rules and remember this is a family forum with out the political B.S.. .  What happened in Jeep land stays in Jeep land.  Thanks
