I have always had an interest to make off-road videos. I have tried to make some videos in the past but they didn't turn out good. Do any of you guys mount video cameras on your rig? What video cameras/ video editing software do you use to make the videos? Thanks D.C.

Michelle has taken a couple with her digital camera. They turned out ok, but it was just b/c she was messing around. It wasn't anything serious. Just curious of what it would look like. I will have her post them sometime. I think I might have one on this computer somewhere. I'm sure if you had some camcorder mounted in a cool way it would be sweet, but how would yo do away wit hall the vibration? thats the hardest part... ~osama

You could probably mount the camera to a rubber mount.

Yea thats what I was thinking. It can't be too stiff or too soft... so you would have to experiment with it... lol by the time you figure it out, you will look like this guy ===> ~wheelchair haha

haha ya really.lol I just thought it would be cool to make some SCUFF videos and post them Up on youtube so we can attract more people through that website? The problem I have had with editing videos is that the picture gets huge square pixles in the picture and it looks like ~poo ~excl

I use a MotoCam mounted on a ram-mount mount (I am a dealer for ram-mounts). It's connected to a mini dv cam corder as well as the audio is piped through the headsets in the buggy. It either records the music from the ipod playing or the person talking through the headsets. The headset audio recording has proved to be priceless as 'heard' in this video from Idaho. make sure you have your speakers on, it's worth it! http://my.off-road.com/kickapps/_Screamin-up-Choke-Cherry-Hill/video/272730/27589.htmlMore good video's on that page also. To edit them you an use windows movie maker for basic stuff or Mac's have a nice video editing tool, or you can go big with the Adobe video programs.

You can import it vi USB with windows movie maker (on all PC's) or via fire wire on a mac. if you use other programs (like adobe premier pro, let me know if you want a copy) you will need fire wire rather than USB.

That's what I have. It's a mini-dv which is still a tape but is recorded in a digital format.
You can use any older camcorder or even a VCR as long as it has some type of video out. USB is easiest but RCA's will work if your PC has RCA's on the video card.
With the mini-dv/digital format the video comes out better on a PC or played after editing on a normal TV depending how you save the edited file.

What video software specifically?
Have you googled for help?
SO video software needs fire wire to see it. Windows movie I think needs USB or fire wire.

My brother may have what you need. Is your camera mini DV? Does it use a usb cord or a firewire cord? And if you need it we have the Sony video studio thingy software
I'll post up some of the vids he has made later

When you are trying to transfer is your camera set to playback/VCR mode?
You also may need to set it to USB mode. i have t do that on mine in one of the menu's.
