Pulled from NAXJA site:

Possible desert racing closure.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just read this over at the M.O.R.E. Racing website.

In case you haven't heard, there was a horrible racing accident in Lucerne, Ca. Saturday that claimed the lives of 8 spectators. Now it sounds as if BLM might try to kill racing there:

"OK Racers and Fans Just had a meeting with the BLM as of right now they cannot give me any info on our upcoming race, they will let me know next week.

As of now they have in mind to Close Off Road Racing. You need to E mail or call now saying you are against this closing. to E mail them you need to go to the BLM site as they are not listing their e mail address. you need to fill out their questionnaire.

You need to do this in a good way, and explain to them the lost of shuting this down and the effect it will have on our Racing Community."

I have sent in my letter, but the next race on sept 11 is already happening.  BLM gave MORE the permits and Vegas 2 Reno just happened this past weekend.   As of now MDR has its permits suspended while the investigation is going on.
