I use a 200A solenoid to hook up my camper batteries to my truck.  I have it so i can hook it up with key on, or just on (for charging off a battery charger, or if i need a little more juice off the truck battery).  I can also turn it off all the time.  I never understood spending a bunch on an isolator when solenoids are cheap and more controllable.  I did have one solenoid fail after a couple years, but it was only a 50A and $15.
