If I was going to get a Suzuki to wheel with and build up myself, which is the best to buy? Which makes the best platform to build off of? Is there better year for the motors, trannys, or transfercasses? Thanks in advance. M.T.

IMO, (without mixing and matching parts from various years) '90+ is the best, strickly because of the EFI. 99.9% of parts will interchange and work correctly between the '86s to '95s Usually, you can find the rear seats in the older ones. The pre '88.5s had the higher 5th gear. Seems like you find more tach dashes in the pre '88.5s. I think just the older ones had the elusive rear LSD. The pre '90s ones had the 4 pin front carrier. So basically you can make the "best" samurai, by combining parts from all years of samurais.
