Been working on this for about three months now, but been collecting parts for about a year.

Started out as pretty solid early CJ5 that I got for a great deal from a friend of a friend

I could have made it run and put some tires on it but what would be the fun in that.
The only thing I used is the body, which I couldn't even leave alone

I extended it 5"

Being 6' 4" this where I'll get leg room and wheelbase
Then I decided to build my frame out of 2x4 .120 wall

A pic of some leaf spring mounts that took some time to make

Dropped the engine in and made some motor mounts

Tranny crossmember so far

Originally was gonna run spring under but didn't like the right height so decided to go spring over

I've done a lot more just haven't taken any pics lately.  I'll be sure to do that

Looking good. When do you "plan" on it being driveable?
Keep posting pics of the progress.

I have no clue when it will be driveable.  Hopefully I'll be in the desert by New Years, but we will see about that as school starts in 3 weeks

On another note been making some progress which I feel is slow but its progress.  Got the engine cage all tacked together radiator mounted and shocks in but need some more tabs from fibertech to finish up the mounts

Got some tires for a smokin deal then go them mounted and balanced thanks to nick (builtFORDtough) then put them on t see what it looked like

Then I tore it all down to clean the grease and brakets and everything off the axles
Before

After pressure wash and degreaser

After grinding cutting and some elbow grease

Moved the jeep to make room for another car in the shop to be moved

Made a tall spring perch for the driver side front

Rear axle all clean

Steering column and brake assembly mounted

Over the weekend I got some stuff acomplished.  The steering box is mounted and all the front cage/frame welding is done.

Also made all these.  Lots of cutting/drilling

this shows my draglink angle which is good

And I think this will be my avatar
