buddy of mine down in yuma has a ford dana 44 out of the front end of an older 250. he wants to know if he could take the knuckles off of a wagoneer 44 and put them on his so he can retain the 6X5.5 lug pattern.

As long as its the normal ball joint setup and not the King pin stuff then I don't see why not.

I have a D44from a 77 F250 that Cheif and I tried using the stub shaft out of to replace one in Cheifs Wag and found that it was about 1/2" shorter than the Waggys. We didnt see if it would still work or not because of a time issue , but its something to think about.

I THINK as long as you change all the outer parts ( Stub shaft too) as well as moorehouses statement you should be OK.

all right cool. we'll give it a try here in a little bit. right now he's looking for some 60's but we think that if he can get a 6X5.5 lug pattern on the axle he'll have a better chance of selling it. or he might use it in the fron and have a 60 in the rear. still working things out. we'll get a set of knuckles from a waggy and give it a try.

I have a 60 rear with detroit locker and 4.10 gears MARK WILLIAMS axles. 5 on 5.5. All tig welded with brakes. NEVER used,  no  perches or shock mounts yet. I have perches for it. I may be persuaded to get rid of it.
