I was given a nice Electric colling fan for my radiator. By the way it is blowing I think it is supposed to be mounted on the front of the radiator. It works just fine in either direction just by fliping the polaritys around. The motor does sound a little different when I do that and it got me thinking, is there a problem with reversing a dc motor direction this way. The fan is made to only go on the shaft one way only so flipping the fan is out. Ive looked inside and cant see how it could make any difference. Just wanting to make sure before I mount this thing. Any experience with reversing DC motors?

Never seen one that you couldn't flip the fan.

Shouldn't matter which way you run the polarity.

Motor polarity should be fine to revere but the CFM will be greater one way than the other due to blade direction
